Postcode to TV Transmitter Tool
Enter a UK postcode and we'll show you the Freeview transmitter serving that area, the compass bearing your aerial should point, the channel group and polarisation, and where to get a quote from the installer covering your area.
That doesn't look like a UK postcode. Try again.

How this tool works
- Your postcode is matched to its postcode area (e.g.
NG1 2BB→NG). - We look up which main UK Freeview transmitter serves that area, based on our directory of 50 UK transmitters.
- The compass bearing is calculated by great-circle geometry from the area's main town to the transmitter's coordinates.
- The channel group and polarisation tell you which type of aerial to fit and how to orient the elements.
Coverage edge cases (Surrey relays, Scottish islands, terrain shadow) won't fit a single postcode-area answer perfectly — for those an on-site signal survey is the only honest answer. See our full transmitter directory or Freeview's official channel checker for granular detail.
